Why choose Playdays

At Playdays we have an enthusiastic team who are committed to ensuring every child enjoys fun-filled days of activities to help them learn and make lots of friends.

Choosing a Nursery is a big decision and one that comes at a very emotional time.  Here at Playdays, we understand what is important to both parents and children, and our aim is to provide the perfect childcare solution.

So whatever your situation, whether you are looking to return to work, moving area or whether you just want your child to enjoy the opportunities available at the setting, then come to Playdays and see how we can help!

Our experienced team will be happy to answer any questions you may have and will work closely with you and your child to help them settle in at Playdays. We understand that every child is different and we will treat your child with respect and as an individual.

Playdays provides a fantastic environment for all of our children and one only needs to come and view the nursery to appreciate this. You will soon feel at home in our friendly relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

At Playdays all of our food is prepared daily using the best seasonal produce.  Ruth (Director/Cook) has over 20 years experience in the catering industry and ensures that our children are provided with nutritious and exciting meals from all over the world.  Ruth is keen to pass on this passion to our children through adult lead cooking sessions with the children.  This summer the children enjoyed cooking sausages outdoors on the BBQ.  Poppy and her friends showed what great cooks they will be when they grow up. At Playdays we have a vegetable garden which allows us to grow our own vegetables, harvest our crops and prepare food for the table.  Playdays also has a food hygiene rating of 5 – Very Good (this is the higest rating given)

At Playdays your children can enjoy extra curricular activities such as swimming, spanish and free local trips using our own minibus.  We pride ourselves in going the extra mile by involving parents and families in events such as Mothers and Fathers Day mornings, Christmas Workshops, Healthy Body Happy Me week, sports day, charity fun days.  We support local events such as the annual Scarecrow Festival and normally hold our open day at this time.

In November 2009 and 2010, Playdays was short-listed for best nursery design award in the nationally recognised NMT Nursery Awards held in London. This was a great achievement for us and confirmed that our learning environment was up there with the best.

Other nurseries often visit Playdays to view our outstanding environment. Recently, Jan White, a leading Early Years consultant has recommended that other settings visit Playdays to learn how to create positive learning environments that are engaging, challenging, great fun and educational.

In August 2010 Julie Hilling, MP Bolton West, visited Playdays and commented “I am very impressed with Playdays Daycare Nursery; the spacious rooms, the outside facililities and great range of activities. The nursery has a great atmosphere and dedicated staff-clearly a real asset to parents locally.”

Recently a senior childcare professional made the following comments about Playdays. ‘The whole environment at Playdays nursery has been designed around the well-being of children. The indoor spaces are truly magical. The environment encourages high levels of independence, curiosity and imagination. The setting reflects a home environment with a sense of family and opportunities for rest, relaxation and celebration of achievements. The highly stimulating and welcoming environment fully reflects the children’s backgrounds and the wider community. Whilst attuned practitioners use high-quality observations to constantly develop the environment so that it inspires and excites every child.

The indoor and outdoor provision is equally valued at Playdays nursery. The team are exceptionally organised and flexible allowing children to move freely between indoor and outdoor spaces independently. The outdoor environment inspires creativity and imagination, it manages to feel secure and welcoming whilst challenging children’s abilities and fostering resilience. Inspirational and innovative teaching motivates children, allowing them to take responsibility for their own decisions and choices.
