What we offer

Safety First

Our carefully designed nursery ensures that all our children have the best possible environment to receive first-rate care and education. Every precaution has been taken to keep our children safe; from simple things like finger guards and plug covers to the electronic access system where no unauthorised access to the building is possible, we also run a high-tech computer management programme. Outside, our nursery grounds are fully fenced and secure. Our children are closely supervised at all times to ensure their safety.

OFSTED Guidelines

Playdays is registered with the National Daycare Nursery Association and we are working closely with local authority advisors in order to ensure that we maintain high standards in respect of the 14 National Standards. A summary of our policies and procedures appear in our Parent Pack and the comprehensive set of documents are available for all parents to consult.

Quality Counts

At Playdays, we have recently introduced a demanding quality assurance system, Quality Counts, devised by our national body, the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA). It is based on portfolio building, mentoring, training, self-assessment and independent assessment leading to the award of Quality Counts accreditation.

Quality Counts is the leading independently assessed quality assurance scheme, specifically designed for group daycare. Quality Counts kite-mark acts as an indicator to parents of independent assessment of quality, over and above the National Standards

Meal Times

We offer 3 full meals a day (breakfast, hot lunch, cold tea) and also 2 drink/snack/fruit times.

Our children are provided with freshly prepared nutritious meals cooked on the premises by our own chef who has over 20 years catering experience. Our menus change weekly, reflect seasonal produce and provide well balanced meals including daily fresh fruit and vegetables and the daily requirements of vitamins and minerals. Any staff involved in food preparation are qualified in Basic Food Hygiene. Special dietary and cultural requirements can be accommodated.

Playdays actively promotes ‘Healthy Body Happy Me Week’ and ‘Stop the Rot’ which encourages children to look after themselves from an early age by introducing fun activities and learning opportunities specifically designed to help children understand more about food, healthy lifestyles and how to look after your teeth.
